Frequently Asked Questions

THE OLD BANK HOUSE

What time is check-in/check-out?

  • We don’t have an official front desk at The Old Bank House. Regular check-in time is 3-6pm, but we can accommodate check-ins as early as 1pm. You can even come earlier to park your car and drop off your bags if you’d like. Just let us know in advance.

  • If you expect to arrive later than 6pm, please contact us in advance so we can send you self-check in instructions.

  • Check-out is 11am. If you need to extend it, please let us know in advance. The latest we can extend is 12pm sharp. We also have the right to decline a later check-out if we have an early check-in that same day,

Where do I park?
  • We have 7 spots for the 9 rooms we have on a first-come-first-serve basis. If the lot is full when you arrive, street parking is available in close proximity to us. There are paid and free streets. We are happy to reimburse you if you had to pay for parking during your stay.

  • During the high season (summer) the streets around us can get full. Unfortunately, we don’t have the rights to reserve spots on public streets, so please keep this in mind. Usually the streets clear up after 5pm everyday.

How far are you from the main street in Niagara-on-the-Lake?
  • We are less than 2 blocks' walk. From the porch or parking lot, turn right at the sidewalk and walk straight for two-ish blocks, and you are right there. We are about a 10 min walk from the Shaw Festival Theatre.
Is breakfast included?
  • Yes, a hot breakfast is included every morning of your stay.
Is housekeeping included?
  • Housekeeping is included with every day of your stay unless the DND sign is out. We refresh towels, make the bed, and take out the trash. For longer stays, we change the sheets every 3 days.

Are all of the rooms upstairs?
  • 8 out of our 9 rooms are upstairs. There are about 12-15 stairs, which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. We have one room on the main floor called the Ivy Room with a walk-in shower. If you think you need that room, please contact us about it prior to your arrival.

Are pets/children allowed?
  • In order to maintain the tranquil atmosphere of our property, we do not accommodate children under the age of 13.

  • Only registered service animals are permitted.

Can you put an extra mattress/cot in the rooms?
  • We do not have the ability to provide extra mattresses or cots in the rooms due to fire codes.

Do you have EV charging?
  • Yes! We have one charger available that is accessible from parking spots 4 and 5.

Do you offer bike storage?

  • We do not have an indoor area to store bikes. You are welcome to chain them to the fence by the gardens outside.

    What time is check-in/check-out?

    • Check-in is between 3-5pm. We will send you self-check in instructions if you will arrive later.
    • Check-out is 10:30am. Unfortunately we cannot extend check-out.

    How far are you from the waterfalls?

    • We are about a 25-30 min walk from the Falls. A WeGo bus stop is conveniently located outside the B&B that takes you directly to the Falls in minutes.

    Is breakfast included?

    • Yes, a hot breakfast is included every morning of your stay.

    Are all of the rooms upstairs?

    • All of our 4 rooms are upstairs. There are about 10 stairs and an additional 7 stairs to the Loft, which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. We are more than happy to help out with your luggage if you are checking in during our check-in window.

    Where do I park?
    • We have 4 parking spots near the back of the house on a first-come-first-serve basis. This is enough to accomodate one car for each room. If you brought additional cars, please park them on the street- it is free all the time.

    Are pets/children allowed?

    • We welcome children of all ages.

    • Only registered service animals are permitted.

    Can you put an extra mattress/cot in the rooms?
    • We do not have the ability to provide extra mattresses or cots in the rooms due to fire codes.
